A beautifully elegant handmade art jewelry necklace made from a piece of rare pink handcut fossil dinosaur bone.
Dinosaur bone is a rare material, the fossilised remains of real dinosaurs. Agate grows inbetween the cells, agatising the bone to make it hard and the different minerals present determine the colour. This pink colour is very rare. This gem quality material comes from Utah in America.
The pink dino bone is suspended inside a slice of Water Buffalo horn (natural, undyed and Fair Trade) via tendrils of wrapped sterling silver wire.
The pendant also features a pink Swarovski crystal and fine silver beads handcafted by the Thai Karen Hill Tribes villagers (purchased Fair Trade directly from Thailand) - white snow rings, polished rounds, cones, tubes, tiny faceted cubes and butterfly charms.
The necklace oval-link chain was handcrafted by the Thai Karen Hill Tribes villages and is made from fine silver.
I handmade a swirly 'S' clasp for the fastening - which is adjustable.
Length chain: 47cm (max)
