This is a one-of-a-kind brooch/pendant featuring a 'Leopard Skin' Jasper gemstone. This is an extremely cool stone with spots of olive, yellow and peach outlined in rich black. It has bold contrasting patterns which are a cross between 'animal print' and abstract art.
This piece also features bronze sheet (etched and turned an 'antique' green), fine silver heishi (Fair Trade from the Thai Karen Hills Tribes), brass micro-screws and fine merino wool roving - in deep green, pale pink and shocking pink.
The wool is both wet felted with needle felted detail and the 'bobbles' make it look (to me) like a sundew carnivorous plant - hence the name!
Its a large handmade art piece (about 21 cm accross) which has a pendant and brooch fastening on the back - so can be worn both ways.
Eye-catching colours with and eye-catching stone!
